The Problem
Screens have replaced playgrounds. Organized sports alone are not enough. Without a deliberate athletic foundation — balance, coordination, strength, and discipline — kids are entering their teenage years physically underprepared and mentally unfocused.
Bodyweight and light resistance training that builds real functional strength — squats, hinges, carries, and push/pull patterns done with proper form.
Ladder drills, cone work, and reaction training that develop footwork, spatial awareness, and explosive movement — the skills that separate athletes.
Every session ends with a 'Warrior Lesson' — a short philosophical teaching on discipline, resilience, and effort that kids carry off the field and into life.
Your Coach
A combat sports athlete and father of three with over 15 years of experience in Muay Thai, MMA, kickboxing, strongman lifting, and strength and conditioning. Coach Dee is not a theory guy — he is on the field, in the gym, and in the trenches every single day.
After coaching his own son's basketball and football teams, he noticed something undeniable: the kids who received structured athletic development off-season — balance, coordination, nutrition, and strength work — dominated when they returned. Parents started reaching out, asking him to do the same for their children.
SD Youthletics was born from that demand. It is a system, not a class. A disciplined, repeatable framework grounded in the science of youth athletic development and the philosophy of combat sports.
"I'm not theorizing about fatherhood and fitness. I'm the dad on the field with kids AND the guy building a legacy for his family."

The System
Every 60-minute session follows a proven arc. The drills progress in difficulty over the 8 weeks, but the structure stays the same — because discipline is built through consistency.

From the Field
My son went from being the slowest kid on his basketball team to one of the most coordinated. Coach Dee's program gave him confidence I've never seen before.

This isn't just exercise — it's character building. My daughter comes home talking about discipline and focus. She's applying it to her schoolwork too.
Marcus T.

I reached out to Coach Dee after seeing what he did with his own son. The difference in my kids' balance and coordination after just 4 weeks was remarkable.

Questions
SD Youthletics serves kids ages 6-11, split into two age-appropriate pods. Pod A (Young Warriors) is for ages 6-8 and meets on Tuesdays. Pod B (Elite Warriors) is for ages 9-11 and meets on Wednesdays or Thursdays. This ensures each child is challenged at the right level.
Absolutely not. The program starts with foundational movements and progressively builds complexity over the 8 weeks. Whether your child is a complete beginner or already plays organized sports, they will benefit from this structured athletic development.
Sessions are held outdoors at a permitted San Diego park. The specific location will be communicated upon enrollment. Training outdoors in the San Diego sun is part of the experience — fresh air, open space, and natural terrain.
Yes. Research from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and findings in Dr. John Ratey's book 'Spark' confirm that supervised, age-appropriate resistance training is not only safe for children but actively beneficial for their physical and cognitive development. The myth that it stunts growth has been thoroughly debunked.
Athletic shoes, comfortable clothing, a water bottle, and a positive attitude. All training equipment (cones, ladders, bands, kettlebells) is provided by Coach Dee.
If your preferred pod is at capacity, you can join our waitlist. Waitlist families are first in line for the next 8-week cycle and get priority access to summer camp enrollment.
Yes. We offer 10% off for each additional sibling enrolled. If you have multiple kids in different age groups, they can each join their respective pod at the discounted rate.
